The quality is up there with GGD Invasion and SD3. Despite less Kit pieces to choose from the selection you do get is almost impossible to sound bad, and the way the mix presets are streamlined, but also optional is the perfect compromise between hobbyists and pro engineers. I was surprised to see a left foot for the kick wasn’t sampled given y’all went through the work of doing the shank and tip articulations, but none the less still a sick library, lastly Spectre sound and every other drum software company need to make more libraries with those crazy bell cymbals you hear bands like Epicardiectomy use, cause slam is the future

This replaced all other drum libraries for me. It’s a well recorded kit with great attention to detail… A no-brainer if you’re trying to program realistic sounding drums.

I have bought a metric ton of drum libraries over the last few months including extinction level event. I like it and has its place in my collection of go to drum libraries. It's very well done and versatile. I also would like a few more toms. The mixer gives you plenty of options to tweak the overall drum sounds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this for?

Guitar Players: The single knob interface might be too complex for bass players

Will it work on leads & rhythms?

Yes! You’ll have to set things up differently for the application, however. One size does not fit all, and one setting doesn’t work with every style of playing.

I have a gate on my DAW. Why would I pay for this?

Because this has been designed to work like the hardware Cockblocker: it’s been tuned specifically for guitar, and isn’t a “generic” gate. Besides, it says “cock” right on it.

What’s a “sidechain?”

“Sidechain” simply means the source that causes the gate to open and close. Normally a gate would just be triggered by the signal coming from the amp’s output. In high gain situations, this can cause misfires, and the gate could open unintentionally. The cockblocker works with your guitar’s direct signal to control the gate. Properly dialed in, when you stop playing, the amp goes SILENT.

Can I use this on my mixes?

Yes! This is the Cockblocker’s super power! You can use your guitar’s direct signal to clamp down on your heavy rhythm tracks quickly and accurately. You’ll save HOURS of editing time!

What if I use a delay on a lead?

The Cockblocker can be used to stop noise, even on leads with effects. Just place it in this order: Splitter or DI signal–>Amp Sim–>Cockbocker–>Delay/reverb
